A lot of women want a ‘white’ colored wedding so would think that the only alternative is white gold. There is however a problem with white gold that a lot of shops might not tell you; white gold is actually champagne coloured and then it is plated with a hard white metal called Rhodium to make it seem white. The problem is that this plating is easily damaged and eventually wears off. You then end up with a very tatty looking, champagne coloured ring.
So why do shops still sell such a poor product? Firstly, when you buy the ring in the shop it looksfantastic and so customers are easily taken in. Secondly they haven’t any alternative to offer. Thirdly, you don’t oft
en buy wedding rings so most people have little experience in this area. Fortunately times have moved on and there are now other alternatives.
Let’s get back to basics. Men want a wedding ring that is comfortable, stylish and strong. In particularthey want a ‘fit and forget’ product. They don’t want to have to take their ring off when doing, DIY, sport and gardening. If you take a ring off a lot you will eventually loose it.
